Hey beloved friends!

Our 2026 started with a whirlwind (snow and ice-storm to be more exact). But I’ll share more about that experience in another post…

As most of you who have followed the YoDad - Your Kingdom Footprint story, may already know; Ryan and I were brought together in what we can only describe as supernatural. YoDad’s was an idea, a download from God. A shoe to fund a mission. We thought the shoe would take off and we would be abled to pour thousands of dollars into missions. To help those in need in places where there is a huge need and we started in my (Chané’s) home country, South Africa.

Well, God, using YoDads through us, was able to bless sooo many people in need in South Africa. We prayed that whatever amount we were able to donate would be an answer to someone’s prayer… and it was! Time and time again! Many of these testimonies were very sensitive and we decided to keep them private.

We never once considered that the shoes themselves were the mission all along! God has such an incredible way of showing up. As we declared the Deuteronomy 11:24 over and over, we could never have dreamed of the miraculous way God brought us together with Fred and Opi (Souls of Hope). And that the YoDad shoes will one day bless, encourage and empower the very feet of those who need them most!

Mid January we received great news from our new friends, Fred and Opi (Souls of Hope). The YoDad shoes had finally arrived in Ghana, Africa. They had just started to identify where the need for shoes were and had started sorting and donating.

I just followed up with Opukua-Opi Mamaa and here is what she had to say about their mission to Ghana:

“During our recent visit to Ghana, we had the privilege of donating hundreds of shoes - each inscribed with “Your Kingdom Footprint” - which we purchased from Ryan and his wife, Chané. These shoes were distributed across non‑denominational organizations, churches, selected groups, schools, and individuals from all walks of life.

Words can hardly capture the joy we witnessed - smiles that lit up faces and gratitude that overflowed from hearts. We were prayed for by ministers, poured into by many, and deeply blessed by every hand extended toward us.

We emphasized one thing above all: that every time a pair of these shoes is worn, the name of Jesus and His Kingdom will be proclaimed and established.

God has shown us extraordinary goodness through this mission and the generosity that fuels it. Our hearts are stirred to continue this work and expand its reach. We invite you to partner with us through Soles of Hope, so together we can impact even more lives.”

Upon receiving these photos and videos from Fred and Opi, Ryan and I were moved to tears. God has done exactly what He set out to do with YoDad shoes! We are in awe of how God exceeded our wildest dreams and expectations for this part of our adventure. Where we thought we had failed… He knew exactly what the plan was for these shoes.

What an absolute honour and blessing to have played a part in this.

Your Kingdom Footprint.

I don’t know about you ladies out there, but I always have at least two lip balms (what they call chapsticks here in the US) in my handbag at all times. One next to my computer and one next to the bed too.

To me this is a gift the women in my family will use multiple times a day and hopefully think of the hands that lovingly made it specially for them.

These days, there are so many chemicals in all of our daily products, that Ryan and I have been taking steps to source organic “raw” products as far as possible and then make our own. We hope to make a complete change to all natural, homemade and “closest to nature” as we possibly can, one day.

All this to say, this lip balm is all natural and packed full of goodness for your lips.

As per usual, I scoured the wonderful world of Instagram to find this amazing lip balm recipe from Frontier Co-op . Now, before we actually make the lip balm we need to make the Calendula infused oil.

There are two methods to do this, with heat or with time. I used the older “time” infusion method and still have a quart jar full of Calendula oil I infused last year. But with Christmas around the corner, ain’t nobody got time for that! The “heat” method is best for saving time as it is much faster.

Calendula Infused Oil

• Dried Calendula Flowers

• Grapeseed Oil

• Quart Ball Jar

• Cheesecloth/Fine Strainer

The “How-To”

1. Fill your jar about 1/3 to 1/2 full with your dried Calendula flowers (loosely packed).

2. Pour Grapeseed oil over the flowers until the jar is full, leaving about 1/2 inch headspace. Make sure all the flowers are completely covered, close with the lid.

3. Set up a double boiler: Place your jar in a a saucepan with a few inches of water (the water should come partway up the sides of the jar, but not touch the lid). If you don’t have a double boiler, use a heat safe bowl over a pot of simmering water.

4. Heat on lowest setting possible for 2-4 hours. Keeping a steady simmer, never let the water get hot enough the bubble hard. This method gently pulls the goodness out of the flowers without damaging the oil.

5. Check occasionally to make sure the water hasn’t boiled away - add more hot water if needed.

6. After 2-4 hours, remove jar (using oven mitts) and let it cool.

7. Strain the oil through cheesecloth or fine strainer into a clean jar, squeezing the flowers well to get every last drop.

8. Label and store in a cool, dark place for up to 2 years.

Now that you have your Calendula infused oil, let’s make our lip balm. I amended the recipe significantly as Frontier Co-Op said to triple her recipe if you wanted to make enough for gifts. Well, I accidentally used tablespoons instead of teaspoons… and so I just went for it, and it turned out wonderfully.

The “How-to”

1. Set up your double boiler (or heat safe bowl over a saucepan with simmering water) Measure your Mango butter and Beeswax into double boiler and melt at low heat. Stirring gently.

2. Add Vitamin E oil once everything is melted, then remove from heat and let cool for about 2 minutes. Add Lavender and Vanilla essential oils, stir gently.

3. Pour into Bamboo lip balm tubes or reusable lip balm tins.

4. let cool completely and Bob’s your uncle!

These turned out great! I love ‘em so much and because I made such a huge batch, I have plenty to keep some for myself. I filled 12 lip balm tubes, and five other little containers that

I had saved. I can’t wait to share these gifts with my family. It’s the little things that warm my heart, inspire me, lift me up, the little things that I would absolutely love to receive as gifts myself, a little piece of someone’s care and essence, a gift of love. Pure Joy!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Winter vibes, Christmas just around the corner… to me, Chané, that means “cozy-time”! While our winters in South Africa take place from June through August (depending on where you live, in the Western Cape spring only comes around November, lol) we do have some winter staples like, Hot chocolate, hearty stews, soups, etc. But we don’t have the US culture of themed drinks and season specific recipes.

Growing up, watching a lot of Hollywood movies set in the US all covered in snow, I had always wanted to experience a Snow White Christmas. This being my second Christmas in the US, I’m super excited to experience more snow. I have also been playing around with all the wonderful spiced drinks and treats that make this season so memorable.

Ryan and I are trying our best to use and consume organic as far as possible and we love learning about natural remedies. I have learned a lot about foraging herbs and edibles in our area, yet I have much more to learn. On this journey to live a more natural life, the way God intended it, I have come across some amazing influencers on Instagram. Certified Naturopaths are some of my favourites to follow for recipes and tips on foraging in the US.

I just recently came across this amazing recipe for Chai Spiced Honey on jkb.journal’s instagram. She explains that when you mix herbs or spices into honey, it is called an electuary. I just love that there are so many amazing influencers out there sharing their knowledge with the world. I look forward to build my own store of natural health knowledge as I journey along.

I love this so much, I made one for our own pantry too! So let’s get into the ingredients:

Raw unfiltered local Honey - Store bought honey comes with a whole slue of concerns, not just for its negative impact on nature but also our bodies. We have been keeping bees for little over a year now and the difference is astronomical. We have, in the past, always supported our local beekeepers for a number of reasons:

• Raw local honey can reduce seasonal allergy symptoms by exposing you to trace local pollens that build immunity.

• It retains far higher levels of antioxidants, enzymes, and beneficial compounds destroyed by processing.

• Its natural antibacterial agents (hydrogen peroxide, propolis, defensin-1) make it effective for wound healing and fighting resistant bacteria.

• Buying local raw honey directly supports small beekeepers and healthier, more sustainable bee populations.

• It provides prebiotic oligosaccharides and more trace vitamins, minerals, and amino acids than processed honey.

Depending on the different translations, the words “honey” or “honeycomb” are mentioned in the Bible approximately 55-61 times. One of my favourite mentions are found in the book of Proverbs.

This verse, though about intense, is so beautiful. God gave Moses the exact recipe to make holy and pure incense to use in prayer and worship to Him. Reserving the most precious spices to carry their prayers to heaven, as it was in the Old Testament. I’m so enamoured by our beautiful YahWeh.

You’re probably thinking “I’ve got my chai spiced honey made, now what? Well, here’s how to use it:

• Mix a spoonful into any warm beverage, my favourite is Rooibos tea . This combination of spices and honey aid in digestion, and Jes recommends you take it before bedtime to help support your body in rest.

• You could also just take a spoonful straight out of the jar, it’s delicious and warming on a cold winters day. Curbs the winter snacking too.

• Try a drizzle over your favourite or homemade granola, it’s an absolute game changer!

Every Christmas, I(Chané) start to think about meaningful gifts I can make for our loved ones. I start doing a little research on Instagram and Pinterest and a lot of the times certain things will stand out to me. I try to think of each individual and what colours and styles I’ve observed through the past year, they might like, love or appreciate.

Being from South Africa, I have noticed that there are some similarities and differences in the way we celebrate Christmas. This is true in our direct family cultures as well. The big difference, of course, being that we try to go to the beach on Christmas Day as it is summer in South Africa this time of the year and most of my family live at the coast.

All this to say, I’ve always tried to make gifts people will either absolutely love or use daily. This way the gift holds meaning and memory and every time they use it or see it, they’ll think of who gave it to them.

The first gift I made is cuticle oil, all the girls in our family love getting their nails done and cuticle oil is great for making those nails last longer. It also nourishes the cuticles, making your hands look and feel well manicured. This recipe was inspired by The Divine Soul Shine on instagram.

Frankincense and Myrrh cuticle oil:

You’ll need:

• Cuticle oil twist-pens

• 3 Drops Frankincense essential oil

• 3 Drops Myrrh essential oil

• 3 Drops Lemon oil

• MTC coconut oil

Here’s how to do it:

• Add all the essential oils into the twist-pen tube

• Fill the rest of the tube with MTC oil

• Pop the brush tip in place, make sure it goes all the way in

• Shake and use

It’s that simple and it smells amazing! Apply and massage into to nails and cuticles before bedtime to get the most benefits from this gift.

Now let’s get into some details about the oils, their benefits and significance…

Frankincense (Boswellia species) essential oil and resin have been used for thousands of years in traditional medicine and beauty rituals (including in ancient Egypt and the Middle East). Modern users and some small studies point to the following benefits specifically for nails and cuticles:

• Antibacterial and antifungal properties

• Deeply moisturizing and regenerative

Lemon (Citrus limon) essential oil is cold-pressed from the rind and is one of the most popular oils in natural nail care. Its benefits come from high levels of d-limonene, citral, vitamin C, and natural solvents.

Interesting fact, the Bible does not mention “lemon” by that exact name (the lemon reached the Mediterranean after biblical times), but it repeatedly celebrates fragrant citrus-like trees that scholars and ancient Jewish tradition identify as close relatives (or symbolic cousins) of the modern lemon—especially the balsam, citron (etrog), and “sweet fruits” praised for beauty and cleansing.

MCT (Medium-Chain Triglyceride) coconut oil, a fractionated form of coconut oil that’s popular in beauty and wellness routines. MCT oil is derived from coconut oil but concentrated to contain primarily caprylic (C8) and capric (C10) acids, making it lighter, less solid at room temperature, and quicker to absorb than regular coconut oil. It’s often used topically for its moisturizing and protective qualities without the greasiness. Here’s a breakdown of the key benefits, supported by its fatty acid profile:

• Intense hydration and moisture retention

• Strengthens and reduces brittleness

• Antibacterial and antifungal protection

• Promotes faster, healthier nail growth

• Soothes inflammation and heals minor damage

Isn’t it just amazing how we can turn to the Bible for wisdom about everything under the sun?! Even though MTC coconut oil isn’t specifically mentioned in the Bible, the verse below speaks of oil as a divine gift for shining, strengthening, and nourishing the body.

“He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for people to cultivate — bringing forth food from the earth: wine that gladdens human hearts, oil to make their faces shine, and bread that sustains their hearts.”

Psalm 104:14–15 (KJV)

There is sooo much more beneath the surface of every aspect of our lives, I love searching out the matter. How great is our God?!

Last week we started to share a little bit about our season in Tennessee coming to an end. Our prayer was that if our season here was over, that God would move the YoDad shoes mountain, and He did! We took this acceleration of God moving our mountain to be the “sign” we’d been waiting for. It’s been incredible to see how God has been blessing us in this time of transition.

We were blessed to steward a farm that didn’t belong to us and for almost two years, we have accumulated a lot of animals, tools, equipment and stuff…

We thought it would take way longer to find good homes for all of our animals but God’s hand has just been on every little detail of our process. We are about halfway ready for our next chapter with only a few big items left to sell.

The excited is bubbling up within us, dreaming of all the wonderful places God will lead us. Our first move will be spending time with Family both in South Africa and the US before we embark on journey through the US.

Yes, you guessed it, we are going “full-time camper life”! We are taking a leap of faith, selling everything, buying a pull-behind trailer and traveling the US. Our dream is to plant kingdom footprints, making a difference wherever we go. Our mission remains the same but our focus has shifted.

YoDad is shifting to Your Kingdom Footprint, where we’ll be “boots-on-the-ground” if you will, lol. Turning our focus more to online and digital products, rather than physical. Although we will still have merch available for you guys. All our proceeds will still go toward funding missions.

In the meantime I, Chané, have been getting our online ducks in a row and started setting “YourKingdomFootprint” up for our next chapter. We are excited to take you all along on our journey with us.

This space will become our Travel Log and a space to share what we are doing, what gear we’re using… for those who are full-time travellers as well, we’ll share our tips and essentials.

We still have a few months before “kick-off” so for now, I’ll be sharing one of my love languages which is gift giving. With Christmas around the corner, I’m starting to plan presents for the family. I love “homemade” gifting and putting together something special and meaningful.

For me, celebrating Christmas is about remembering the greatest Gift of all time! The birth of Christ was a priceless gift, one that changed the course of history forever. What better way than to spend Christmas with loved ones and giving gifts from the heart.

Your Kingdom Footprint

What a crazy past two years it has been!

We felt called to Franklin Tennessee back in March of 2024 and dreamed of farming, raising our own meat and fibre animals (throw in a bunch of layer hens for eggs) and so much more. It just seemed YoDads had taken a back seat for a while.

We were too busy farming and for some reason nothing we did with the YoDad shoes worked out. We found ourselves confused and questioning the whole thing. We felt like failures. Asking all the questions:

“What was the point?”, “Why couldn’t we get this business moving forward?”, “Why didn’t we feel any urgency or motivation to pour all we had into this business?”

Worse than failures, we felt like bad stewards of an amazing idea God had entrusted us with. Upon speaking with family and each other about the whole experience, we were reminded of all the blessings that came through YoDad - Your Kingdom Footprint.

So many lives were changed! We were able to donate to two separate missions to Africa. Testimonies of prayers answered right down to the smallest detail of needs reached us all the way from South Africa. We were able to come alongside the body of Christ to be the hands and feet of Jesus, here on earth.

We were even ministered to by a warrior of the Kingdom to whom we donated a pair of shoes in South Africa. God reminded us through all of you, that even though we might never see the harvest of the seeds we have planted along the way, it doesn’t mean those seeds never grew. We have been blessed in sooo many ways.

As we started feeling the end of our season here in Tennessee draw near, we asked God to move this mountain of shoes we had sitting in our trailer on the farm.

This would be the sign we needed to know that we are moving in God’s will. The last thing we wanted was to move, be outside of God’s will and end up in the belly of a whale, so to speak, hahaha! Anyway, as we were praying on morning, we barely got done saying “amen” when Ryan got a message on Facebook, someone was interested in all the shoes.

I wish I could say “we sold all the shoes that day!” but God had someone specific in mind, so He hacked Ryan’s Facebook, lol. Somehow we just felt icky about the guy who wanted to buy the shoes. Then all of a sudden Ryan couldn’t message him back, his profile was gone, then it looked like he had blocked Ryan. When Ryan went back onto his Facebook marketplace, it froze and freaked out… It took him about two days before he could get his Facebook marketplace back up and running.

By the end of that week we finally got the message, “we want to buy all to shoes to donate to people in Ghana”. We instantly felt a sigh of relief over the whole thing. We met Fred and Opokua-Opi from Soles of Hope and it was like God planned the whole thing from the beginning!

Our heart was to make a difference in people’s lives with YoDads. What an incredible difference, to know that all 794 pairs will be going to people in need of shoes, hope, and the love of God.

Ryan and I spent a week unpacking and wrapping all the shoes and packing them into wooden crates that Ryan had built. It was a Friday, we went to bed at 6pm, got up at 11pm, drove an hour away to pick up Fred in Nashville and drove off to Chicago to drop the crates off at a shipping yard. Fred said they will be going to Ghana over December and will send us lots of pictures of their mission trip.

We can’t wait to see the faces of those who will be planting Kingdom Footprints all over Ghana.

God is faithful, always! All glory to God!

Your Kingdom Footprint

In 2019, my life was turned upside down when I realised my marriage of just about 12 years was over. In the middle of my worst storm, God rescued me and started me on the most incredible journey.

It was in the midst of this storm that I was prompted to reach out to my mom. “I need help” has long been the most difficult thing for me to admit or ask of anyone. For the first time, I told my mom everything! She reached out to my sister-in-law who connected me to a Kingdom counsellor, a warrior woman of God! She took me through deliverance and broke off so many strongholds over my life.

During one of our counselling sessions, I got word from a trusted prophetess friend of her’s. God’s word for me was: “you have made your decisions in the past, now it is My turn.” That was exactly the truth and the tipping of the scales that I had been praying for!

But my storm wasn’t over yet. I still had to go home to my then husband. We were getting ready to move, my 36th birthday was coming up and he was on his way out of the country for a month. When he returned to South Africa in 2020, Covid hit. I was to be in hard lockdown with him for what turned out to be 3 months!

I was at the end of myself, emotionally exhausted and totally surrendered to God. It was in this place of my life, God gave me His peace! It was a peace that surpasses all human understanding. A peace so out of place, so out of sorts in my situation, so supernatural that I knew it could only come from God!

And so, God turned my lockdown into the most creative and growing time of resting in Him! He started ministering to me through Youtube and led me to many men after His own heart such as John Paul Jackson, John E Thomas, Troy Brewer, Shawn Bolz... He led me to worship music that not only fed my spirit but was also an outlet and place to let go of built up emotions, unforgiveness and even find my self-worth and identity in Christ.

It is only by the grace of God that I am here today. Having always been a really private person and someone who didn’t want to burden anyone else with my problems, I kept my struggles, marital problems and depression to myself. I became so good at hiding my feelings and issues, that friends and family were shocked when I finally started sharing that I had gotten divorced and moved back in with my parents in May of 2020.

Fast forward to 2021, my mom sent me a prophetic word one day, the link went straight to an ebook called the Science of Dreams which led me to joining Raising Royalty, an online Kingdom academy bent on teaching the truth of God’s word to the children of God! Raising Royalty led me to a group called Kingdom Warriors (an NFT project with a mission of taking ground for God in the mountain of arts and entertainment by producing Kingdom content) in April of 2022. I received an email inviting me to join a challenge and I just felt the Holy Spirit nudge me to do it, so I did! It started the very night I signed up and I found myself immersed in the Kingdom Community I had previously been praying for! I just never thought that it would be online.

About a month later, I started working for Kingdom Warriors as virtual support and also helped with their onboarding process. Five months later, God moved mountains to get me on a call that changed my life and set me on course for His will in my life.

This is how it went down: After numerous tech issues, missed zoom calls and then a colleague falling ill, I was put on a call with a guy named Ryan. After a normal onboarding call and helping him set up and explaining all the protocol, we ended the call. What happened next had me baffled! I couldn’t get his face out of my mind and as we had just started a new challenge (which I helped run) and Ryan was on this challenge, I kept seeing him on my computer screen. He was everywhere! To the point where I was pacing the floor asking God, “why? why are You highlighting this guy to me? Am I supposed to help him with something? Is he supposed to help me with something?”

It didn’t take long for my communication with Ryan to become more personal as we started to talk with one another outside of the challenge and business of Kingdom Warriors. We were both taken aback at what was going on here as we lived on opposite sides of the globe, it was just crazy! We both felt that this was God at work and as neither of us were looking to be in any kind of a relationship at the time, we decided to just take it one day at a time and see what God had for us.

When God moves in a way that is undeniable, and you are in a place of complete surrender to Him, you come into a place of alignment with His Spirit that is just so indescribable! You just know, that you know, that you know! I had no idea why, but I knew that I loved Ryan and almost let the words slip many times.

It was maybe a week in and Ryan and I were constantly on the phone, for hours, everyday. Then we would be on the same zoom calls with Kingdom Warriors and this particular Warrior Wednesday call, Timothy Morgan(the marketing expert) was heading the call and asked each of us to give some background to who we were and what we do. I shared my Kingdom Warrior testimony as it encompassed how God had moved in my life and was using my talents as a graphic designer and social media VA for the glory of His Kingdom.

Timothy pried at me for a bit and asked me to share “My Story” . He really put me in the spotlight, but I began to share about having studied as a Textile Designer and how I was a self taught graphic designer, etc.

Soon as the zoom ended, my phone rang! It was Ryan, he was so excited! He told me the whole story of how he came to call a style of shoes Yo Dad’s to such an extent that he had rebranded those shoes to the people in his life, how his niece had spoken a prophetic word over him creating Yo Dad’s. Of how he had been on a zoom with Eric Sheldon, founder of Kingdom Warriors who had spoken a prophetic word over Kingdom entrepreneurs about how God is opening doors for kingdom products.

Ryan went on to share how he had prayed after that meeting with Eric, as God had highlighted Yo Dad’s to him. Knowing in his spirit that this was a God idea but having no experience in the field of textiles or product creation. He said that when he jumped on that zoom with Timothy and I had uttered the words “textile designer”, he instantly thought that I was exactly the person who would know about designing and making a shoe! God had answered his prayers, He had preordained plans for us and we were watching it all unfold.

We started developing the idea of Yo Dads as a real workable idea and the more we dreamed with God, the more we realised just how limitless this idea was and the impact it will have on all those God moves us to sow into.

Soon after this and about 2 weeks into the relationship, Ryan and I were chatting, Ryan was half falling asleep when the words “I love you” resounded over the phone. We both instantly woke up, kinda shocked! I immediately said, “what…?! wait…I love you too!” I had been feeling this way since that first call but had no idea that he had been feeling the same way! So there it was, we were not just “in love” we loved each other... because He loved us first!

A few weeks later on my birthday, I wake up in the middle of the night to a message from Ryan, a screenshot of his plane ticket to South Africa to meet me and my family in person. We got engaged 25th November, 2022 and started work on my fiancé visa to go to the US so we can get married. Ryan spent three incredible weeks with us in my home country and got to experience it all! Both the beauty South Africa has to offer and the heart breaking truth of the vast impoverished communities.

We had the opportunity to attend a dinner at the home of a local missionary from my brother’s church. Then Ryan shared his mission field experience with me. His earthly father, who passed about 12 years ago, had been involved with many mission trips to Africa and he had been able to go with him to Kenya in his mid-twenties. Ryan pointed out how he realised, that so many of these missions have just become a continual raising of funds and constantly working from a position of lack.

We discussed the fact that there was great need in my country for people with skilled labor but that the multitudes of people in need of work, didn’t have the kind of skills people could utilize.

Later in the trip we walked around the Kleinmond Harbour, a beautiful area with many beautiful holiday homes on the coast all overlooked by a large area we call informal settlements. These settlements are areas allocated to our country’s impoverished communities, some parts have government subsidised housing but the majority are makeshift housing we call shacks.

Ryan, being a guy interested in real estate with a background in rehabilitating properties, noticed a beautiful property in this area that was for sale. It is the most run down property in a couple of blocks boasting new development with thriving shops and restaurants at the centre of this vacation destination area. The both of us saw so much potential in this property and started dreaming with God. The possibilities are endless!

God started to unveil more and more what this idea could become and what this property might look like as a solution to some challenges in the community. We continued to dream with God about this idea over the course of a few days and Ryan wrote down his vision of this self-sustaining mission idea in his journal:

A self-sustained mission teaching Kingdom principles by which to live such as sowing and reaping, money management, tithing, community service, and civic duty with an internship for teaching service-related skills like groundskeeping, maintenance, hospitality, culinary, and management.

All of this built around holiday rental units as the start and the later addition of a restaurant and venue that could actually be income for the mission that took on young people from the community for a time and taught them skills that would be marketable in the area.

Upon returning to the US, Ryan met with Timothy Morgan of Giver Marketing Network on a zoom call. In this meeting he told Timothy of the two ideas that were weighing on our hearts and circling around our minds. Timothy gave him this advice, “I always tell people to either focus on an idea that makes a million dollars or focus on an idea that affects a million people. Sounds to me like you have an idea that could make a million dollars you should focus on in order to fund your idea that affects a million people.”

How amazing?! God brought so many people into our journey with Word to help guide us and confirm what He had established in our hearts!

So, we focused on building a company to sell a product like a shoe from which a large portion of the profits go to building opportunities to spread the gospel and build the kingdom through empowering and discipling nations. From that point forward we have focused on designing and making a comfortable shoe, which is something we all buy anyway. This in turn will enable us to fund missions designed to teach the people to fish and become self-sufficient.

Everything God has so strategically written in this story of our lives, has just blown my mind! It’s like He implanted Yo Dads into both my and Ryan’s hearts! We have the same desires, hopes and dreams for this God-project, the same excitement! Our past accumulated skills and experiences fit perfectly together with who we are now in Christ, in fulfilling our purpose on this earth and in the spiritual realm. God has equipped us with everything we need to steward this project according to His will.

We will make Kingdom Impact!

It all started from a place of complete surrender.

At the age of 43, after years of “wandering around the desert” struggling with addiction and identity, I found myself in yet another unhealthy marriage where failure had to be acknowledged. I knew that every time something failed in my life, I was the common denominator. I knew that I had to make a major change but didn’t know where to turn. From past experiences in religion, I knew there was no help for me at church.

So, I decided to go to an AA meeting. When my feet hit the steps of that first meeting I fell apart. God showed up on the front porch of the AA that day in the hearts of the two guys sitting there waiting for the meeting to start. The compassion and grace I felt from those guys that day can only be described as a God encounter.

Instantly, God lifted years of addiction and confusion off me and showed me that from a position of surrender, He would give me everything I need. Wow, what a relief it was to not be in charge anymore.

At that point I decided to stop paying attention to anything worldly, I even shot my TV in a Facebook post, and concentrated on changing my heart, then changing my community. As Grace would have it, I’ve been blessed with a Kingdom minded mother who had been leaving me a trail of breadcrumbs from which to find truth and light in Jesus.

As God took me through a season of pruning, there were some very painful things that needed to be cut off, that in hindsight was in order to make room for the growth He had planned for me. Over the next year I asked God for just enough light to see the next step in front of me and focused on where I felt He was leading me. Born again in Christ Jesus, I completely changed the things I consumed to things leading me to hope and joy in Jesus bringing new truth and revelation in life, things that even explained so much of what I saw but struggled to understand in my life as the old man.

A little over a year into my gift of sobriety and Sonship, my mother and closest spiritual advisor, brought to my attention a group called Kingdom Warriors. This group was involved in arts and entertainment, with a mission of taking ground for God in this mountain by producing Kingdom content. Being a construction and real estate guy, I really didn’t understand this world of entertainment and NFT’s, but I understood their mission and knew we had a huge need for good content as I could see the evil in most entertainment and media. Feeling led to help, I invested in the mission of Kingdom Warriors, changing the course of my life forever.

As God would have it, I met a woman named Chané, from South Africa, who was the virtual assistant for Kingdom Warriors that helped me with the onboarding process. Coming into this group I had no idea what to expect. All of the sudden, I was participating in a Facebook challenge that connected me with people all over the world. These people were Kingdom minded truth seekers speaking life and blessing into each other and now into me. Wow! I had been praying for a community of Kingdom people to plug into, but I didn’t picture it like this. I had been church hopping in my area only to find stale atmospheres of spiritually starving people. I never expected to plug into such a community through the internet.

My communication with Chané started to become more personal as we started to talk with one another outside of the challenge and business of Kingdom Warriors. We even discussed that we had no idea what was going on here as we lived 8500 miles away from each other, or about 13,700 kilometers in Chané’s distance measurement. The thing we both felt was that God was at work here and we decided to just take it one day at a time and see what God had for us.

For a couple of years prior to this, I had been involuntarily calling a particular style of shoes Yo Dads. For the life of me I could never get it right, and when I saw the shoes, Yo Dads would just come out of my mouth without thinking.

By the time I got involved with Kingdom Warriors, I had rebranded these shoes as Yo Dads with the people closest to me in life. Right after becoming involved with Kingdom Warriors, I was walking out of church with my mom and two nieces wearing a pair of the shoes we all now called Yo Dads, when my niece Kasyn spoke out what I can only see as prophesy straight from God at this point:

“Uncle Ryan, you should start Yo Dads! People would buy them for sure!” Kasyn said as we were walking out of church that day. It was like those words hit me right in the heart and woke something up. I thought to myself, wow this kid might be right!

Soon after this, I was on a Zoom meeting where Eric Skeldon, founder of Kingdom Warriors, told us to all pay attention because God was imparting business ideas on his people as marketplace solutions or even products. This made me immediately think of the Yo Dads idea.

After the meeting I had about 45 minutes until another meeting I wanted to participate in. So, I just sat with God and prayed. I said, Lord I see this idea and I see it’s not mine, if You want me to do something with it, You’re going to have to show me what. Because I don’t have any idea how to design a shoe, or manufacture a shoe, heck I can’t even draw a shoe, so you’ll have to line me up with someone who can.

Well about 10 minutes after that thought left my head for the ears of God, I entered a Zoom meeting where Chané was also present. Right off the bat, the host, Timothy Morgan, asked Chané to share a little bit about her story. She introduced herself as a “textile designer”, then went on to tell about her journey with Kingdom Warriors. To this point, I had only known of Chané as a virtual assistant, social media, graphic arts person. To tell you the truth, I didn’t even really know what that meant.

However, when I heard the words “textile designer” come out of her mouth, I instantly thought that sounds like exactly the person who would know about designing and making a shoe and God had already connected us! He had already answered my prayer and I didn’t even know it!

Of course, right after that meeting, I had to get Chané on the phone and tell her about Yo Dads. Turns out she knew quite a lot about the whole design and manufacturing process of this kind of thing. Just another glimpse at how God has been at work in my life and so Chané and I started developing the idea of Yo Dads as a real workable idea.

I thought to myself.

In the next couple months, I found myself on a plane to South Africa to meet Chané and her family in person and spent several weeks there. What a beautiful place this is! However, life is not easy there and the divide between the wealthy and the impoverished is heart breaking. What I witnessed over the next few weeks was both amazing wealth and heartbreaking lack nestled together in a beautiful landscape.

We had the opportunity to attend a diner at the home of a local missionary. The mission field isn’t new to me as my earthly father, who passed about 12 years ago, had been involved with many mission trips to Africa and I had been able to go with him to Kenya in my mid-twenties. However, what was highlighted to me in this fellowship was how so much of the mission becomes continuing to raise funds and constantly working from a position of lack.

Another thing that was highlighted to me on this trip was the need for people with skills. There were lots of people in need of skilled labor but not many people that needed work had the kind of skills people could utilize, neither did they have self-confidence nor the ability to provide for themselves and their families.

Later in the trip we were in a beautiful area with many beautiful holiday homes near the sea all overlooked by a large area of very impoverished people living in tin shacks and makeshift houses. Being a guy interested in real estate with a background in rehabbing properties, I noticed a beautiful property in this area that was for sale. It is the most run down property in a couple of blocks boasting new development with thriving shops and restaurants at the center of this vacation destination area.

So, we called the realtor and scheduled a time to look at the property. Although the property needs work, so much of which I can easily do myself, this place was awesome and really got my wheels turning and thinking of what a real estate investment might look like in a foreign country. The property has 6 rentable units with a larger building, a bunkhouse style loft, multiple bathrooms and large living area all in the middle of a vacation town.

Being a dreamer, this was only something I was dreaming about and not something I truly thought was feasible for me. A couple of mornings later, I woke up with a much different idea of what this property might look like that could be a solution to some challenges in the community. Fast forward to Friday, 14 November 2025, and we are officially sold out of YoDad’s flagship shoes (more to come on that God-story soon). As our season in Tennessee comes to an end, we are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime!

We believe in living a life of intention and purpose which has made our current season seem quite puzzling. The past two years have presented many blessings and challenges. Somehow, we felt stagnant and stuck in a type of limbo we couldn’t quite understand, but more on this later.

It is easy to loose sight of our vision and dream, that’s why keeping an account of our miracles and blessings is imperative! This way, we can revisit all God has done in and through our lives. Just the mere sharing of our testimonies can restore our hope for a future.

It has been quite the journey and we are incredibly excited to see what God has in store for us in the future.
